First Thoughts

My family and I are about to leave Palo Alto, California to relocate to Omaha, Nebraska.

This is a good thing.

My goal for this blog is to document my experiences though the major professional transitions of (a) becoming a nearly full-time stay-at-home father; (b) leaving Stanford University as an employer and a community; and (c)  developing new pieces of my identity with this chance to reinvent myself – or at least parts of myself.

I have set the goal of blogging once a week.  I have a wide variety of interests from fatherhood to collaborative technologies; from Japan to college basketball, and from Bruce Springsteen to cookies.  What these things all have in common is me.
